The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU) work under the directions of HEC and typically focuses on several key functions:

Funding and Grants:

Identifying and informing the faculty about the research grants opportunities for them to apply and then assist them in acquiring funds from international and national funding agencies.

To keep track of all the research carried out in the university by faculty and staff and then commercialize the relevant research to reap maximum benefit for the industry and therefore translating the research into the public benefit.

Research Development:

Promotes and supports research activities across various disciplines, helping faculty and students develop research proposals and projects.

Innovation and Technology Transfer:

Encourages the development and commercialization of innovative technologies and research outcomes. Facilitates patenting, licensing, and collaboration with industry.

Market Research and Analysis:

Assists startups in conducting market research, understanding industry trends, and developing market strategies.

Training and Workshops:

Organizes training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance research skills and knowledge among faculty and students.

Patent Filing and Prosecution:

Provides support in preparing and filing patent applications with relevant patent offices. Manages the prosecution process to ensure that patents are granted and enforced.

Business Incubation Center:

The Business Incubation Center (BIC) within the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at Baba Guru Nanak University (BGNU) focuses on business development and connects startups with experienced mentors and advisors who offer strategic guidance, business advice, and industry insights.

Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs):
